JBA first opened for business in 1985 as J. Bittle American. Over the years we have built, serviced, and engineered hundreds of performance vehicles for a variety of customers all with different goals and needs. The cars and trucks have evolved with more advanced engine management systems and more sophisticated chassis and suspensions. JBA has endeavored to work with and improve upon these systems to satisfy today's automotive enthusiasts' craving for performance. At the same time JBA has pioneered the smog legal development of performance modifications to meet the increasing emission restrictions on modern vehicles.

Dating back to the first smog legal shorty header in the late 80's JBA has led the way in innovating new California emissions legal performance products. It was a natural progression to start working with other manufacturers products and incorporating them with our own to develop complete engine systems that blend performance, reliability and smog legality.
